2020 model Lenovo Yoga C740 is a 2-in-1 laptop with a 14-inch Full HD IPS touchscreen display, Intel i5-10210U processor, 256GB Solid State Drive, 8GB DDR4 SDRAM memory, Windows 10 Home operating system, high definition webcam, backlit keyboard and modern connectivity ports.

The quarter two of 2019 release tenth generation, quad core, ultra low voltage Intel i5-10210U processor (4 cores & 8 threads with the hyperthreading) is powerful enough to handle your regular daily tasks and more. It works at the speeds between 1.60GHz and 4.2GHz with the turbo boost function and has an average CPU Passmark benchmark score of 6543 at the time of this product review. The typical Thermal Design Power- TDP is 15 watts that helps with the longer battery life of up to 13 hours from its lithium ion battery at the low light settings and regular tasks like video playing or word processing.

8GB DDR4 SDRAM is an adequate amount if you will not be performing heavy workloads at once like playing demanding games and running apps and browsers simultaneously. 256GB Solid State Drive will also be enough for regular daily use and if you won’t be saving many games and videos on the local storage. You can use external storage and Cloud wherever and whenever you have internet access. Windows 10 64-bit Home operating system is probably the best Windows so far with a user-friendly interface, Windows 7-like Start menu, Cortana Personal Assistant and Microsoft Edge browser that lets you mark up web pages.

14-inch FHD touchscreen on this 2-in-1 Lenovo has the 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution, vibrant colors, decent contrast and IPS panel with the large viewing angles both vertically and horizontally. Intel UHD 620 graphics card is fine for your daily multimedia needs for browsing the internet, video streaming, playing not very demanding games at higher settings and resolutions. The performance is between a GeForce 910M and 920M dedicated graphics cards and you can play the entry level games like Rocket League or Team Fortress 2. The high definition 720p webcam is good quality with precise colors and picture but you need to have proper lighting in the room to get the best performance and clear picture.

Connectivity options include the 802.11ac wireless, Bluetooth, an HDMI output, Media Card Reader, headphone/microphone combo, 2 x USB 3.1 Type-C Gen 1 ports and a USB 3.1 Type-A Gen 1 port. Please note that a Stylus pen is not included in the package and there is no Ethernet for wired internet access. You can purchase a USB adapter and a convenient Stylus pen separately. The island style keyboard is backlit for letting you type comfortably in the dim light or dark and the keys are a bit small if you have large fingers but clicky and responsive with a good key travel distance.

Silver Lenovo Yoga C740 weighs just 3.09 pounds and measures 12.7 x 8.4 x 0.7 inches- is compact, slim and lightweight for you to take it wherever you go easily. Lenovo’s Intelligent Cooling adjusts the thermal settings dynamically and you won’t really hear the fans much. The screen is not super bright and the laptop is a little heavier than the competitors, but it offers good value for the money. It has a premium look and feel, user-friendly features, functionality and versatility, good performance and decent battery life. You are spending less without giving up on robust build and power.
