2020 model HP Stream 11-ah117wm is an 11.6-inch HD Laptop that comes with the entry level technical specs including the Celeron N4000 processor, 32GB eMMC flash storage, 4GB memory, Windows 10 operating system in S mode. It also includes the Microsoft Office 365 Personal subscription for a year which you can use with Zoom and Google Classroom and Legendary accessories.
The quarter two of 2018 release dual core Intel Celeron N4000 CPU (4MB cache, 2 cores, 2 threads) works at a base speed of 1.1GHz with up to a burst frequency of 2.6GHz as required by the more demanding tasks. But please note that with an average CPU PassMark benchmark score of 1465 you can not expect to run the very complex engineering and multimedia editing programs or play the demanding games at the reasonable settings and resolutions.
And you have an average amount of multitasking power by which you can keep 3-4 browser tabs simultaneously while a couple of apps are running in the background. System memory is 4GB DDR3L SDRAM at 1600MHz, which offers just adequate multitasking at this computing level and is not upgradeable. 32GB eMMC flash storage does not offer much space but you will be relying more on Cloud based storage. You have a large 1TB OneDrive Cloud storage included for 12 months.
Windows 10 Home installed on this machine is in S mode and you can easily change it to the regular Home version via the Start screen and Microsoft store. With the Office 365 you will have access to the Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, OneNote and more. On this HP laptop, you have a variety of modern connectivity ports and options including the 802.11ac wireless, Bluetooth 4.2, a USB 2.0 port, a USB 3.1 gen 1 port for data transfer, an HDMI 1.4 output, a headphone/microphone combo jack, a microSD card reader and a 45-watt smart AC adapter.
11.6″ high definition WLED-backlit anti-glare display has the 1366 x 768 pixel resolution and 73% screen to body ratio. The image quality on this small screen with the HD resolution is pretty good and you won’t notice much difference between this and a Full HD display. Graphics card is the built-in Intel UHD 600 which is an entry level GPU for playing the simple games at acceptable settings and resolutions.
Hp Stream 11 weighs 2.38 pounds and measures 11.08 x 7.59 x 0.66 inches- is compact and lightweight for easy portability. The typical Thermal Design Power is 6 watts and the battery life is up to 12 hours and you won’t need to be near the power outlets. The backpack it comes with is actually a charging backpack and you’ll get a mouse pad as well. It is a basic computer for the daily non-demanding tasks like web browsing, run Microsoft Office- Word, Excel, and watching movies. HP Stream 11 is rated an average of 4.5 out of 5 stars by two users on the day of this product review. And it comes with a year of limited hardware warranty by the manufacturer.
