2020 Samsung 11.6″ HD Chromebook with Intel Atom x5-E8000

2020 model night charcoal Samsung (XE501C13-S02US) is an 11.6″ HD Chromebook with the basic modern Intel Atom x5-E8000 processor, 4GB memory for basic multitasking, 32GB eMMC flash storage for speed, Chrome operating system and good connectivity options for a small machine.

The entry level quad core Intel Atom x5-E8000 processor (2M cache, HD quality 4-way processing) runs at a base speed of 1.04GHz up to 2.0 Ghz. It has a Passmark benchmark score of 1572 4GB LPDDR3 SDRAM at 1600MHz is adequate for running 3-4 browsers and a couple of apps smoothly at the same time. It is not a lot but better than having 2GB like on some similar Chromebook or entry level Windows machines.

32GB eMMC flash doesn’t offer ample storage space but OK for those of you that will use the laptop mostly for internet and rely on Cloud based storage whenever you have internet access. But you have much more speed than a regular HDD Sata drive. Chrome OS feels just like using the Chrome browser, comes with the online and offline Google apps. It includes automatic security and other updates that run in the background and you will not have any security problems and the operating system runs smoothly.

Typical Thermal Design Power is only 5 watts for a longer lasting battery especially when you’re out and about. The Atom x5 quad core processor offers similar multi-core performance to the Celeron N3350 with slightly slower graphics card. Connectivity options include the 802.11ac wireless, Bluetooth, a USB 3.0 port, a USB 2.0 port, an HDMI output, a microSD memory card reader and a headphone/microphone combo jack. There is no optical drive but you can hook up and external one via Bluetooth or one of the USB ports.

11.6″ LED-backlit energy-efficient high definition non-touch display has the 1366 x 768 pixel resolution. The HD Graphics (Cherry Trail) lets you play all the Chrome and Android games smoothly at high settings and the less demanding Windows games at lower settings. There is a built-in HD webcam with microphone to chat with friends and family on Google Hangouts and other apps. Night charcoal Samsung Chromebook weighs 2.60 pounds and measures 11. 39L x 8. 09W x 0. 70H inches.

It comes with the SPMOR accessories of a 6ft HDMI cable, a 6 ft. USB extension cord and a mouse pad. There is a built-in virus protection, cloud backups and thousands of applications for the fast and safe Chrome OS with a simple and user-friendly interface. The local storage is only 32GB and you can save all sorts of files on the Google Drive to have access wherever you are. If you’re on the market for an entry level laptop for school work or casual daily stuff around the house. And if you will be using the laptop mainly for browsing the internet, streaming videos etc. then you can certainly consider this brand new release Samsung Chromebook.
