The Intel Core M3-8100Y is a dual core processor that runs at 1.1 to 3.4GHz speeds with turbo boost. It has a Passmark benchmark score of 3562 as a modern mid-range processor for a snappy performance, helped by the multitasking power of the large 8GB LPDDR3 RAM and 64GB eMMC flash storage. The Chrome OS starts in just seconds, has the built-in virus protection that runs in the background with automatic updates and keeps its speed over time without any slowing down.
You will get the 100GB of free Google storage for 12 months to save your files for automatic back-up of your files. You’ll be productive on the go and when you’re traveling. Connectivity options include the 802.11ac wireless, Bluetooth, a Type-A (gen1) port, 2 x USB Type-C (gen1) ports, Micro SD (SDXC) Card Reader and an Audio Jack. There is no DVD Drive and no HDMI output and you’ll need a USB-C to HDMI dongle. The integrated Intel HD 615 is a decent graphics card for daily media use and will be adequate for all the Chrome games. It has a lithium polymer battery
that lasts around 8 to 10 hours when watching videos or browsing the internet at medium screen brightness. And the maximum would be like 12 hours with the lowest screen brightness etc.
The chassis is made of solid plastic, not metal but certainly has a premium solid feel without any flex. There is no fold flat 360-degree rotation, aluminum chassis and touch display of the C434 model, but comes with an 8GB memory for lag free operation, a decent mid-range operating system for a Chromebook, great overall performance, beautiful modern design, very sturdy construction, NanoEdge bezel display, backlit keyboard, large 6″ trackpad, fan-less quiet design and more.
