ASUS VivoBook 15 (F512DA-RS51) is an ultra slim 15.6-inch laptop with a Full HD non-touch screen, AMD Ryzen 5-3500U processor, 8GB DDR4 RAM, 512GB Solid State Drive and Windows 10 Home 64-bit version.

It comes with one year US warranty by the manufacturer and good customer support. The Quarter 1 of 2019 release ultra low voltage quad core AMD Ryzen 5-3500U processor has a Passmark benchmark score of 7889 as a high-end processor with speed and performance. It runs at speeds between 2.1GHz and 3.7GHz with the boost for whatever the tasks may require. 8GB memory at 2400MHz is good amount for adequate multitasking power at this level for most computer users and there shouldn’t be freezing or delays when you have different apps and browsers open simultaneously. 512GB M.2 SSD provides you with both great speed and snappy performance and a spacious storage space.

Asus VivoBook is slim, compact and portable, weighs 2.93 pounds, with the dimensions of 12.56 x 7.83 x 0.72 inches. The full-size keyboard on this Asus is backlit for typing comfortably in the dim light, with also the 1.4mm key travel. You can tilt the keyboard up with the ErgoLift hinge for typing comfortably. There is a fingerprint sensor on the trackpad and with the Windows Hello you do not need to type your password each time you log in. It doesn’t come with an optical DVD drive, but a variety of connectivity options including the 802.11ac wireless, Bluetooth 4.2, HDMI output, a USB 3.1 Type-C, a USB 3.1 Type-A, a USB 2.0, Audio Combo Jack, and a MicroSD Card Reader.

The 15.6-inch Full HD LED-backlit anti-glare display with the 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution offers very decent quality picture with great contrast and vivid colors. This frameless 4-sided NanoEdge screen has the very slim 5.7mm bezel and 88% screen  to body ratio for immersive visuals. This is not a gaming machine and you’ll get the integrated AMD Radeon Vega 8 graphics card for being able to play the latest games at low to medium settings and resolutions.

You probably don’t need a dedicated GPU and you’ll enjoy the decent media performance with the Radeon Vega 8 straight out of the box unless you’ll be using the computer for complex video editing or advanced gaming. ASUS SonicMaster and the built-in dual stereo speakers deliver good quality sound even at higher volumes. VivoBook is a great modern laptop with a beautiful slim design, versatility and functionality, a comfy backlit keyboard, a responsive touchpad, large SSD storage and memory, a powerful AMD processor and a reasonable built-in graphics card and more at a fair price.
