HP 10-P018WM is a modern detachable laptop with a 10.1-inch HD IPS panel touch display, Atom processor, adequate amount of RAM for multitasking and the speed of eMMC storage, very long battery life and HP Active Pen. It has the basic entry level specs but offers decent, reasonable performance and you’ll be fine as long as you’re not expecting the speed and power of an expensive laptop.

The quarter 2 of 2016 release quad core Intel Atom X5-Z8350 is a lower mid-range processor with a Passmark benchmark score of 1270, at speeds between 1.4 to 1.9 GHz with turbo boost. The Atom processor is good enough for everyday tasks like Microsoft Word or Excel, internet browsing and video streaming but definitely not for playing advanced games or running demanding multimedia editing or engineering programs.

4GB DDR2 SDRAM is adequate amount of memory at this level and you can have some apps and browsers running simultaneously without major problems. 64GB eMMC Storage is not a lot of storage space but is faster than the regular SATA hard drives and will probably fill up quickly if you save a lot of music and videos on local drive. And you have the Cloud storage these days and you can have access to your files wherever you have the internet connection. The latest and popular Windows 10 Home operating system comes pre-installed on this HP laptop.

The HD Graphics (Cherry Trail) is better and faster than the Bay Trail and will let you play some of the not so demanding Windows games at lower settings and resolutions. But the high end 3D games will work very well on Android systems. The very low TDP of 4 watts on the Atom processor helps with the long battery life of up to 10.5 hours on this laptop. It has the fast charge feature and will get to 50% in just half an hour. And with simple video streaming and internet browsing you can expect around 8 to 9 hours easily in practice.

HP 10-p018wm weighs 2.2 pounds and measures 10.4 x 0.6 x 6.8 inches- is lightweight and compact for your travels. This detachable laptop offers a bit more than a laptop that rotates around a hinge for tablet, tent and stand modes. The screen converts to tablet as soon as it is detached from the keyboard. And you get the HP Active Pen included in the box.

The 5MP webcam at the back is located in the corner so your fingers don’t get in the way. For connectivity it has the 802.11ac wireless, a standard USB 3.0 port, a USB 3.0 with the USB 2.0 speed, and an SD Card Reader. You can connect a printer to this laptop as long as the printer has the USB connection or wireless. Any memory or processor intensive tasks will not be good on this machine as the Atom processor is not very powerful. But it would be good enough for students or travelers, lightweight and compact to take to school or wherever you’re traveling and you won’t be performing the heavy tasks. If you do not have high expectations in terms of processing power this little detachable convertible laptop will satisfy at this low price level.
