Lenovo Ideapad S145 81MU007NUS 14″ HD Laptop 

Lenovo Ideapad S145 81MU007NUS is a 14-inch laptop with a dual core Intel Pentium Gold 5404U processor, 128GB SSD storage, 4GB memory, Windows 10 operating system in S mode, and good connectivity options. The unit we’re reviewing is offered by Amazon Renewed, works and looks like brand new and includes the 90-day Amazon Renewed guarantee.

Only the box it comes and maybe the accessories may be generic. The dual core Intel pentium 5405U processor works at the fixed clock speed of 2.3GHz and has a PassMark benchmark score of 3148 on the day of this page release. 4GB DDR4 SDRAM at 2133MHz offers adequate amount of multitasking power and you won’t have any problems with 3-4 browsers and a couple of apps and programs open simultaneously. As you will not be using a 200-dollar entry-level machine for very demanding tasks with great processing and multitasking needs, you will be fine.

128GB Solid State Drive is not a lot of storage space but is much better than a large HDD in terms of speed. It is very easy to switch from the Windows 10 S mode to normal Home via the settings on your main screen and Microsoft Store. S mode is a more restricted Windows 10 with only apps from the Store and you can browse the internet only on Microsoft Edge browser. You have the speed, stability and security according to Microsoft. It is up to you to change it to normal Home version with more choices, but it won’t be possible to switch it back to the S mode.

14” HD LED-backlit non-touch anti-glare display with IPs panel has the 1366×768 pixel resolution for reasonable picture quality and very large viewing angles. It is not as clear as a FHD screen but is certainly good enough at this low price level. Graphics card is the Intel UHD 610 that is similar to the older Intel HD 510 and lets you only play the not so demanding games. You can only play a few of the latestgames at lower settings and resolutions. There is a 720p high definition webcam for your live Skype chats and when you want to take still photos.

Sound quality is more than acceptable with the Dolby Audio through the 2 x 1.5W speakers. It doesn’t come with an optical drive and the connectivity options include the 802.11ac wireless, Bluetooth, an HDMI output, a Headphone /Microphone Combo Jack, 3 x USB ports, and a Media Card Reader. Please note that keyboard is not backlit and there is no fingerprint reader on this Lenovo Ideapad. Grey IdeaPad S145 weighs 3.52 pounds and measures 14 x 10 x 0.8 inches. The typical TDP- Thermal Design Power is 15 watts on this machine that helps with the longer battery life.
