Chacabuco 47927 is a robust, nice looking and versatile day pack designed for men by Patagonia with a 30-liter volume. There is also a Chacabuco Pack for women, which is the #48085 model with a 28-liter capacity.

They are both designed for carrying your gear when hiking (the right size and functionality) and a variety of other uses throughout the day. They both come with the main compartment, a laptop pocket, a stash pocket, mesh on the rear pocket and dual big stretch pockets where you can put your water bottles. So you can organize your stuff nicely.

Chacabuco Pack is made with the strong 7.4 ounces 630-denier hundred percent nylon plain weave fabric with 50% recycled and 50% high-tenacity content. The lining is 3.3 ounces 200-denier hundred percent recycled polyester. It is nicely coated with polyurethane and has a durable water repellent- DWR finish. There is a tablet sleeve which is properly padded and lined in the main section and lots of space for your other belongings.

The padded laptop compartment can easily fit in most 15 inch laptops and you actually have a separate zipper entry at the back. You can put the smaller items or things like sunglasses, iPod and other electronics in the stash pocket. There is an outside pocket where you can put small essentials or things like energy bars. You have the adjustable cording at the front, which is good for jackets or bike helmets.

There is the highly breathable- heat venting air flow mesh on the back panel and shoulder harness. So you will feel comfortable and cool with it on your back all day long on your long hikes. The sternum straps and compression straps will help with stabilizing whatever you’re carrying.

The men’s Chacabuco has a longer and wider torso than the women’s model, which includes the shorter straighter tapered shoulder straps. Chacabuco #47927 weighs 675g (or 1.49 pounds) and is a very solid product with a great build quality.
