2020 Dell Inspiron 3000 14 inch HD Laptop, i5-1035G4, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD Review
2020 Dell Inspiron 3000 14-inch HD Laptop
2020 model latest release Dell Inspiron 3000 14” Laptop has the tenth generation advanced Intel i5-1035G4 processor, generous amounts of SSD and memory (512GB and 16GB), Iris Plus graphics card, modern connectivity ports, Windows 10 Home in S mode and HesVap accessories. These accessories include a USB extension cord, an HDMI cable and a mouse pad that are valued at 39.99 dollars.
It has an average customer rating of 4.4 out of 5 stars by only 5 users at the moment being a very new release computer. This laptop is marked as returnable within 30 days of your purchase but a restocking fee will probably apply. The latest generation quarter 4 of 2019 release ultra low voltage quad core Intel i5-1035G4 (6MB Cache) works at a base speed of 1.2GHz up to 3.7GHz with the turbo boost function as the more complex tasks require more speed and power. The average CPU PassMark benchmark score is 9792 at the time of this product review. This indicates a very capable high end processor that can handle pretty much anything you throw at it.
The typical Thermal Design Power is 15 watts for a long battery life from the 3-Cell 42WHr lithium ion battery. 16GB DDR4 SDRAM is a high bandwidth memory for a decent amount of multitasking power to run multiple browsers and apps at once smoothly with zero lagging or freezing. 512GB Solid State Drive offers lots of speed and ample local storage space. It is also much lighter in weight than a regular Serial ATA HDD drive. This is an upgraded computer with a larger memory and SSD than the original. Black Dell Inspiron 3000 14” weighs 3.68 pounds and measures 13.3 x 9.5 x 0. 8 inches. Keyboard is not backlit but is quite comfortable to type on and the trackpad is responsive.
14-inch high definition anti-glare non-touch LED-backlit display has the 1366 x 768 pixel resolution. It is not as good as a FHD display but should be fine on a 14” screen. This is not a gaming computer and comes with a built-in Intel Iris Plus graphics card that shares the memory with the CPU rather than a dedicated card. But you have an advanced 10th generation i5 processor as well as a powerful integrated GPU and the 16GB memory is plenty for them to share. With a performance level similar to the entry level dedicated NVIDIA MX150 graphics card, you can play the latest demanding titles at reduced settings and resolutions. And the less demanding games like the Rainbow 6 Siege, Rocket League or Fortnite can be played at higher settings.
There is no optical drive but comes with a 802.11ac wireless, Bluetooth, an RJ5 Ethernet connector, an HDMI output, two USB 3.0 ports, a USB 2.0 port, a multi-format SDXC Digital Media Card Reader and a Headphone-out/Microphone-in combo jack. Windows 10 64-bit operating system is available in the S mode on this laptop and can be switched to the regular Home version easily. You can do it through the Start button on the main screen, then Settings, Update & Security Activation, and Go to Store, Get option and Switch out of S mode. The Win 10 S mode promises more security but lets you use only the applications from the Microsoft store and only the Microsoft Edge as the browser. Please note that if you do the switch to the Win 10 Home, there is no going back to the S mode.
