Obsidian black Acer Spin 11 is a mini 2-in-1 convertible Chromebook with an 11.6-inch WLED-backlit high definition touch display, an entry level Celeron N3350 processor, 32GB eMMC flash storage, 4GB RAM, modern connectivity options, a HD webcam, stereo speakers and the Chrome OS operating system with built-in security.

The last quarter of 2016 release dual-core Intel Celeron N3350 processor (Apollo Lake) offers adequate entry level performance on a budget priced Chrome machine. It has a current Passmark benchmark score of 1115 at the time of this page release. The base speed of 1.1GHz moves up to 2.4GHz (single core burst and 2.3GHz if multi-core burst) with the turbo boost function as needed by the tasks on hand.

The Typical TDP- Thermal Design Power is only 6 watts for an all-day long battery life. You can use it for your daily tasks on Chrome operating system for checking emails, internet browsing, Office stuff, multimedia- photo editing and video streaming and some gaming. You can expect basic multitasking from the 4GB high bandwidth memory to run different browser tabs and apps at the same time without any lagging. 32GB eMMC flash storage is heaps faster than a HDD SATA hard drive but lacks the storage space. And you can save all your files on Cloud storage or connect an external drive via a USB port.

The 11.6-inch 10-point multitouch WLED-backlit CineCrystal glossy display has the vibrant colors and decent contrast in your videos and photos. The typical resolution is 1366 x 768 pixels on this high definition display. The built-in graphics card is the Intel HD 500 Braswell that shares the memory with the Celeron processor and with a videocard benchmark score of 427. You will not really have any problems with the Chrome games and you can play them smoothly. It has a built-in high definition 720p webcam with microphone and good quality stereo speakers.

Obsidian black Acer Spin 11 weighs only 3.2 pounds with the dimensions of 11.7 x 8.1 x 0.8 inches- is lightweight, compact and portable. As a 2-in-1 convertible Spin laptop, this Chromebook’s screen rotates 360 degrees around its hinge. For connectivity it comes with the faster and larger coverage 802.11ac wireless, Bluetooth, 2 x USB 3.0 ports, a headphone jack and includes a USB-C power adapter. There is no optical drive and you can easily connect an inexpensive one via Bluetooth or one of the USB ports. The Chrome OS offers a simple and fast, user-friendly interface and is updated automatically with the virus protection and the latest software. Overall it offers decent value at a low price.
