2019 Microsoft Surface Go Bundle is a 2-in-1 laptop and tablet with a 10-inch Full HD touchscreen display, the mid-range Pentium Gold 4415Y processor, sufficient amounts of memory and Solid State Drive, adequate modern connectivity options and long battery life. It is rated 4.4 out of 5 stars by 3 customers as this has been released only recently.

Intel Pentium Gold 4415Y (2M cache) is a quarter 2 of 2018 release dual core processor at 1.6Ghz speed, wth a Passmark benchmark score of 2225 and TDP- Thermal Design Power of 6 watts to help with the rather long battery life. There is no turbo boost feature on this processor, the speed is fixed at 1.6GHz and you can’t really expect the performance levels of the modern Intel i3 or i5 processors.

4GB RAM- memory is good enough for simple multitasking and you shouldn’t have problems with a few browsers and a couple of apps open at the same time. 128GB Solid State Drive offers speed and some storage space that should be enough for some users and not others. You can increase the storage via the microSD slot if you want to save your multimedia files, apps and software as well. Windows 10 operating system in S mode is included in the bundle and works well with the touch display.

10-inch PixelSense IPS screen has the 10-point multi-touch capability, 1800 x 1200 pixel resolution and very large viewing angles horizontally and vertically. It shows all the details clearly on the screen with high pixel density. You can browse the internet, read, study, stream videos in high definition. The integrated Intel HD Graphics 615 is adequate for your daily graphics tasks and needs. You can play some of the modern games at low resolutions, settings and fps. It has two an 8MP rear webcam and a 5MP front webcam with the Windows Hello face authentication, both with great resolution and a decent picture quality overall.

Connectivity options include the 802.11ac wireless, Bluetooth 4.1, a USB-C port, microSDXC Card Reader, a headphone jack 3.5 mm and a Surface Connect port. The battery lasts up to 9 hours with video streaming and less for more demanding tasks. The brand new Surface Go weighs 1.15 pounds and measures 9.65 x 6.9 x 0.33 inches-  is both compact and lightweight to carry around comfortably when you’re out and about and on your travels. There is  no optical drive on this slim tablet laptop and you can connect an external drive if you need one. The sound quality is pretty good through the 2W stereo speakers with Dolby Audio Premium.

The keyboard is conveniently backlit for comfortable typing in the dark or dim light. You may prefer the Surface Pro for work purposes but the brand new Surface Go is also suitable for work, travel and simple daily tasks at home. It has a smaller keyboard and pad, has a less powerful processor, less storage etc than Surface Pro. Please make sure you switch to the Windows 10 Home or Pro version if you want it to work just like on a regular laptop. S Mode is a more restricted version that lets you use the apps from the store and browser the internet on Edge browser etc. You can switch to the Windows 10 Home from S version easily via Settings and Activation that takes you to the Windows Store. You’ll get the Surface Pro Type Cover included in the box.
