HP 14-dk (9XM12UA) is a 14-inch laptop with a HD resolution non-touch display, modern mid-range AMD Athlon 3050U processor, 128GB Solid State Drive, 4GB DDR4 memory, Windows 10 in S mode and good connectivity options including WiFi 5 and Bluetooth 4.2.

It comes with an accessory bundle of a mouse pad, a USB extension cord and a HDMI cable. Media Reader and webcam software also come installed on the HP 14. Quarter 2 of 202 release AMD Athlon 3050U is a dual core ultra-low voltage processor (4MB L3 cache, 2 cores and 2 threads) for slim and lightweight laptops with a base speed of 2.3GHz that runs up to 3.2GHz with the turbo function. The average CPU PassMark benchmark score is 3225.

High bandwidth 4GB DDR4 SDRAM at 2400MHz offers a good amount of multitasking power to let you have a few browsers and a couple of apps run smoothly at once without major delays or freezing. 128GB Solid State Drive is great for speed especially when booting up or shutting down the system or when opening files. In terms of storage space we think that it is sufficient at this price point unless you have many games and other multimedia files to save on the local storage. And you’ll probably be relying more on Cloud storage.

The 14-inch high definition, anti-glare, less than 7mm micro-edge WLED-backlit, BrightView, glossy display has 1366 x 768-pixel resolution for an adequate picture quality and 220 nits of brightness, although not as clear and vibrant as a Full HD display. Radeon RX Vega 2 is the built-in graphics card with the shared video memory for an entry level gaming and multimedia performance for your daily graphics needs like video streaming and internet browsing. You can’t have high expectations for gaming and you can play some of the modern games at low settings and resolutions.

Sound quality is good enough at this level, with the HD Audio through the stereo speakers. It has a HP webcam with the built-in digital microphone. Black HP 14-dk weighs 3.33 pounds and measures 12.76 x 8.9 x 0.78 inches. Connectivity options include the 802.11ac wireless, Bluetooth 4.2, an RJ-45 connector- Gigabit Ethernet LAN , Media Card Reader for simple photo transfer, a SuperSpeed USB Type-C port, 2 x USB Type-A ports, a headphone/microphone combo, an HDMI output and an AC smart pin. Windows 10 in S mode includes the added security features against malware and phishing, boots up faster and feels more responsive.
